How City Lives Journal works

We read public records closely to explain a person’s work and its social setting. This is commentary, not access journalism by default.

Public-source profiles and commentary

These entries identify themselves as public-source work and include citations to the public interviews, talks, institutional profiles, publications, or other material they rely on. They do not claim a conversation, approval, consent, or endorsement by the person discussed.

Direct interviews

When we publish an actual interview, it is labelled as one. The record includes the date and setting of the conversation and a confirmed consent date. A direct interview is not created from public remarks.

Corrections

We correct material errors with a dated note. If a cited source changes or disappears, we review the entry and clarify what remains supported.
